My new personal weblog

For a long while I wanted to start my blog, in order to organize information that I keep collecting and generating.

Historians glean information about a period by collecting correspondence, books, and newspapers. Weblogs have the feature of correspondence (open letters), books (publishing my thoughts), and newspapers (news). Sure, this technology is much more fragile and much shorter lived than paper, but I hope it will be of some use. I know of at least one person that will be interested in my past - and that is me myself in ten years.

I hope people will comment on my pages. Commenting gives a level of detachment which might elicit more sincere comments, or anonymous flames that I would not hear otherwise. I have just remembered a saying that 'secretly listening in on conversations is not a good way of hearing good things about oneself'.
